(2024 - Jan) Nervous System Reset
Welcome to 'Nervous System Reset' — an online, 8-week, transformational learning experience for anyone ready to explore this ancient meditation practice for better sleep, less stress and the release of trauma.
Welcome to 'Nervous System Reset' — an 8-week online learning experience that encourages your mind-body-connection. Join us as we explore relaxation processes and share with you tools to regulate your own nervous system, all while building emotional and mental resilience. In this course we focus strongly on Yoga Nidra as it promotes better sleep, reduces feelings of stress and concentrates the release of trauma.
This online classroom will delve into the structure, science and philosophy behind Yoga Nidra, exploring conscious breathing techniques, practicing Restorative Yoga, learning about sleep hygiene and more, in a way that is accessible to everyone.
Every week from January 7th until March 3rd, 2024, students have exclusive access to educational content in a range of engaging formats including 5x, 1.5hr live zoom lectures and discussions, written, audio, video and guided home study. Come away with 40hrs Continuing Education with Yoga Alliance & Yoga NZ!
'Nervous System Reset' is led by Swami Karma Karuna, founding member and director of Anahata Yoga Retreat, New Zealand. She is a dedicated, accessible and intuitive yoga teacher, certified Yoga Therapist and an Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapist with more than 30 years of experience working with a wide range of people.
Yoga Nidra and Restorative practices are profound, yet simple techniques to encourage the mind to let go of the external world, turn inwards and bring calm to the whole system. Yoga Nidra is a fully guided accessible meditation practice that plays with the state between waking and sleeping, allowing us to explore ‘being’ in a world of ‘doing’.
Over 8 beautiful weeks, students will have the opportunity to learn about the origins of Yoga Nidra, experience the many benefits and applications and explore a variety of tools such as visualisations, Sankalpa, breath awareness and relaxation techniques.
We cover each of the 4 stages of Yoga Nidra in-depth and delve into the science that has grown to support this powerful tool of ‘yogic sleep’. The Yoga Nidra content is supplemented with Restorative Yoga, Breathing Practices, sharing tools to build resilience and strengthening the nervous system and hormone regulation. We encourage you to follow the weekly structure which progresses you through the course in a way that supports the full understanding of your nervous system. However, the course is self-paced and can be completed in a time frame that suits you. Each week we invite you to reflect in the self-reflection journal that will be provided.
This is an inclusive course. All bodies and levels of experience are welcome, including absolute beginners. Throughout the course you are welcome to contact Swami Karma Karuna, who will be available to help answer questions and offer support. Our live Zoom sessions are recorded and uploaded to this Thinkific platform, available to you for six months following completion of the course.
When you have finished the ‘Nervous System Reset’ online course, you are eligible to receive a 15% discount, which can be used in conjunction with the Early-Bird price, on our upcoming 2024 Yoga Nidra & Restorative Practices Teacher Training taking place from 16-31st January.
